Garreth Farrell
Masters of Manip therapy, BSc (hons), MISCP
Garreth qualified from Brighton University in 1997 with an award for clinical excellence. He consolidated his skills while working in the National Health Service in the UK for a number of years. He conducted courses for staff and students at Sussex University UK and treated a wide array of sports injuries onsite at the university.
He has worked onsite at Intel Lexlip and has been the Physiotherapist for the Ford Motor company at their plant in Liverpool
He has also worked in Private practice in Sydney Australia treating rugby, AFl and running sports related injuries. He worked as part of a Medical team with the Aboriginal community in Alice Springs.
In 2004 Garreth was awarded a distinction for his Masters in Manipulation therapy at Curtin University in Western Australia. His research on spinal posture has been published in the Spine medical journal.
His research has also been presented at Physiotherapy conferences both nationally and internationally.
In 2005 Garreth returned to Ireland and Established the Physio Dynamics Clinic in the Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin.
Garreth is the Physiotherapist for the Leinster Rugby Team.
Avril Barrett
MSc neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy, MISCP, MCSP
Avril qualified from University College Dublin, after which she went on to develop her skills in private practices in Ireland, the UK and Australia.
Part of her career has been in a sports based clinic in London, with the Wimbledon Tennis Championship physiotherapist. During her time there she worked with a variety of elite sports people ranging from runners, cyclists and triathletes.
Avril's most recent clinic was also established in central London where she developed her keen interest in rehabilitation of clients. The clinic had a fully equipped pilates studio, where Avril ran rehabilitation classes and taught pilates to clients to compliment their full recovery from injury. Avril also had the opportunity to work alongside an ergonomic physiotherapist assessing clients at their place of work.
During Avril's time in London she was the physio for a London based rugby team, Old Cranleigh and the Fulham Irish gaelic football team for over two years.
Avril also completed her Masters in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy at the University College of London, where she obtained the prize for the highest clinical results at the end of her master's year. She has also carried out research into the cortical control of the muscles of the scapula (shoulder blade).
Avril has an excellent raport with her clients allowing them to be comfortable while diagnosing and resolving any injuries they may have.
Orla Blake
BSc (Hons) Chartered Physiotherapist
Orla graduated from St. George’s Hospital Medical School, London. She worked in the National Health Service for a number of years in the 2012 Olympic borough of Newham in East London. Here she worked closely with the consultants treating orthopaedic, musculoskeletal and sports injuries.
Following this Orla worked in a private sports and dance injury clinic in Newcastle, England working with elite athletes, professional dancers, actors and the general public. Some of her patients included semi-professional rugby and football players, Commonwealth games swimmers, equestrian eventers and actors from the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company. She has also carried out occupational physiotherapy on British Airways staff at Heathrow Airport and provided a physiotherapy service for a club level rugby team in London.
Orla has treated a wide range of both acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries including neck and lower back pain, arthritic joints, repetitive strain injuries, post surgical orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries such as muscle pulls and tears.
She has a special interest in Pilates and carried out training with the Australian Association of Modified Pilates. She believes Pilates can really complement the rehabilitation process for a wide client base including pre and post natal women, elite sports people and back pain patients, to name a few.
Orla is a keen sports woman and captained her university swimming team. She has won a bronze medal in the team section at the Irish National Cross Country Athletics Championships.
Orla is very personable, highly motivated and enthusiastic about her work and strives to help each patient achieve their individual goal.
